Last updated: May 27, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DQHub (dqhub.io), operated by DataQ, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

DQHub is a marketplace for data quality rule packs. The service allows users to:

  • Browse and download data quality rule packs in various tool formats (Soda, dbt, Great Expectations, SQL, Spark)
  • Test rule packs against uploaded data in a browser-based playground
  • Create and publish rule packs for the community
  • Rate and review rule packs

3. User Accounts

Certain features require account creation via OAuth (GitHub, Google, GitLab, or Bitbucket). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide accurate information and promptly update any changes.

4. User-Generated Content

When you publish a rule pack on DQHub, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content through the service. You retain ownership of your content.

You represent that you have the right to publish any content you submit, and that it does not infringe on any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

5. Standards-Based Content

Many rule packs on DQHub are derived from publicly available industry standards and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR, ISO standards). We document the source of each pack for transparency. These rules represent our interpretation and implementation of publicly available requirements and do not constitute legal or compliance advice.

6. Data Processing

When you use the Playground or Pack Testing features:

  • Data you upload for testing is processed in your browser and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers
  • We do not access, collect, or retain any data you upload for testing
  • Test results are generated locally and are not stored

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Publish malicious content, spam, or misleading rule packs
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts
  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically download content in bulk without permission
  • Interfere with the service's operation or infrastructure

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

DQHub is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Rule packs are community-contributed and standards-derived content — we do not guarantee their accuracy, completeness, or suitability for any specific compliance requirement. Always validate rules against your specific regulatory obligations.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DataQ, Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to data quality issues, compliance failures, or reliance on rule pack content.

10. Intellectual Property

The DQHub platform, branding, and original content are owned by DataQ, Inc. Community-contributed rule packs remain the intellectual property of their authors, subject to the license granted in Section 4. Standards-based rule packs are derived from publicly available specifications and are attributed accordingly.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time for violation of these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your published content may remain available unless you request its removal.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the service or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
